Now this might be a stupid question but since wireless G routers are so cheap right now why not use just buy another wireless router instead of a switch? That way you get the wireless signal to the main floor and 4 wired ports for your MythTv box.

Distro=Kubuntu, Ubuntu & Puppy.

Right now I have 2 servers, 1 workstation, 1 networked HP printer, 1 laptop, and 1 voip phone. I currently have the Linksys WRT54FS router with 4 ports. I will have another machine (MythTV frontend). So I need 6 wired connections. Looking at Newegg I can pick up an 8 port switch pretty cheaply ($15-40 US).
Thanks for the suggestion though.

If you don't mind doing rebates, CompUSA has some netgear stuff on sale this week.

A 5 port switch for $8 and a 16 port switch for $30, both prices are after the rebate.

Thanks, there's a CompUSA right by my office. I'll stop in there and see what they're offering.
