PJSIP
http://www.pjsip.org/
Some of the highlights taken from the site are :
can efficiently/happily hold conference with more than a hundred participants on Intel P4 systems, with still loads of CPU to spare (note: only PCM codec is used during the test).
record conversations.

Tuesday, I guess. I'm still up for it, I have Skype and Gizmo installed, just give me a time and date I'll be there.

I don't think Tuesday is a good day because its in the week, at the weekend, more people are available at the same time....

I was referring to last Tuesday, the day you picked for us to do a recording.

Pat was it you, who posted in the forum as hackmeister ?
I believe gizmo is actually a project by linspire, hence linux releases are regular and with line with the other versions.

Founding Principals
The team behind Gizmo Project have their roots in some of the internet’s most influential startups, including MP3.com (founder), i-drive (founder), Linspire (founder), Scour (founder), and Napster. The founder of Gizmo Project’s parent company is Michael Robertson, the influential entrepreneur behind MP3.com.
The project seems to be a skype competitor...
Have you checked out openwengo ,

Yes, that's me.

I was aware of that. Skype for Linux is at v1.3 while the Windows client is at v3.1. Talk about getting left behind. Devon was suggesting that Gizmo was giving us the same treatment. It's closed but at least a Linux company is behind it. For some people that's not enough. Personally I don't have a problem used something that's closed until a better F/OSS alternative exists.

Not yet. I will check it out. Looking over the features it's seem to be a standard SIP client with good chatting capability. While it's good that it's Open it currently doesn't have as many features as Gizmo. The ability to record your calls is a big deal. At least to people who do interviews and podcasts. You guys are free to use anything you want. It seems there's no consensus. Maybe you guys should appoint a benevolent dictator to get the ball rolling?
