Topics to be discussed on #techshow podcast
I have been thinking about this show a little more , a few have asked ,"what our we going to talk about" well here is a list of what i think is a good place to start.
All comment welcome .
In no particular order :-
Less bitching, more coding.
-- what i mean by that is , a lot of people , myself included moan about some application that is good but not as we want it to be, should we shut up and change it ?.
Commercial applications on linux, a good or bad idea?
-- should we encourage developers like adobe to port photoshop to linux and what could the consequences be if they did ?
stuff we have been playing with
-- yabber on about your newest discoveries ..
pimp our contributions
-- i know that jza is doing work on openoffice , why not tell the community about it and try to get more involved.
the mac debate
-- i know that some you of use mac osx or have had experience with it , start a civilized flame war, tell you tales , and mention apples contributions back to the open source community like darwin, security related stuff ported to freebsd.
favorite tllts moment and why you love the show and its culture.
Its not a definitive show, something to spark the flames,,,

Just look at Red Hat Enterprise, the cheapest package costs 349 dollars!! If that's not commercial software, I don't what the heck it is.
That would be "The Dann Show".Patrick wrote:I'm not listening then!Snarkout wrote:-- Lemon Parties

Great Idea.
Should we rant about Vista and it's flaws (the pointer vulnerability). Should we even care?
I would like to talk about desktop apps, I think much discussion go into the distro wars but not that much into actual apps.
Many people are into learning python, I have some experience with the language should we do a tour about the language.

Brilliant! I need to learn more python, just need to find a very simple, well-coded python program from which I can pick up on good programming techniques. I try to use object orientation, but really have no idea if I'm going about it in a reasonable manner. I'm sure there are projects that I can learn from, probably on the Python website, I'll go have a look...
