Python Study Group Meetings

Post by Jza » Fri Apr 20, 2007 4:19 pm

Hey guys, we should schedule some meetings on the #tllts IRC channel to review the books and organize on the chapters and such.

This post is to see what is the more avaialble timespan for the group. I know we have a global crowd so we should get a good time for all of us.

Tuesday nights would be difficult on me. Thursday night is good for me, though I'm open. Is anyone in the study group from outside the Americas?

I am busy on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from 5:00 pm CDT to 8:30 pm CDT. Most other times would work fine for me.

So, it looks like Ryochan is in the same timezone I'm in, CDT. I didn't think about it, but coordinating with people who don't have Daylight Saving Time might be a challenge, too. DST is such a hassle.

Mon, Tue, and Thur aren't good for Ryochan unless we start pretty late at night, and I'm not sure if I'm even with it at that time. I would imagine that Fri–Sun are days when most people are out doing something, or at least it's less consistent for scheduling.

What's Pat's schedule like? Does pre-show preparation mean that doing it Wednesday before the show would be rough for him? I know several of us like to listen live, so would that be too much for us and our wives to take if we meet for an hour or so before the show and then listen to the show afterward? I think I could be up for it.

During the week at night is a little rough for me. Remember I have a very pregnant wife (due in about a month) and a 3 year old son. Lunch time during the week is a good time for me (12:00-1:30 PM). I can probably swing something on Sundays or for a bit after the show on Wednesday nights. You guys should go ahead without me if the majority has a set time I can't swing.

I was thinking along the same lines. Meeting at the same time for IRC chat would be pretty tough, might just use a forum or the wiki to ask questions.
