I just installed it on my laptop here. Ubuntu would hard lockup randomly I think because of my Dlink wireless card. Didn't have that problem with Arch, but arch was too flaky for me. Anyway, so far I am really loving me some man-driver...uh mandriva.
Even though it has a gay distro name, a really gay release name (mandriva spring), and even more gay default theme (orange cream and flowers) (Aren't they based in France after all? ) it is very solid so far and very responsive. I'll keep my fingers crossed on the lockups. This might turn out to be my distro of choice, with a few more masculine theme and desktop changes! It even has a working network manager for my Dlink Atheros chipset! groovy.
Using an rpm distro after all these years is quite a change. But so far I dont see the problems I used to have years ago.

I'm pleased to read that you like the distro so far.

You can download the blue themes (although they still feature the Spring graphics) from the repositories. Just search for "mandriva-theme". Perhaps the Powerpack + theme will be more to your taste.

In any case, I hope you find Mandriva worth keeping on your system. I certainly enjoy using it.

Make sure you check out all of the fun stuff you can do with Metisse.

Holding down the "WIN key" while clicking/dragging/scroll-wheeling with the mouse is the key to many of Metisse's features.

My laptop video card is too old to even run Metisse. No biggie. The more I use this the more I like it. A few times I have whispered to myself "Wow, Ubuntu didn't do this..." I was like Linc and thought it would be sluggish and unresponsive, but speed wise it is exactly the same as my kubuntu Feisty.
I really didn't want to like it, or think I would. I wanted to stay with my Ubuntu or try Arch again, but so far it's running like a dream.

What kind of laptop do you have it installed on (just out of curiosity)?
