A true alpha quality release, since there are several things I couldn't get to work, including https and imaps protocols, but I was impressed with the responsiveness of it, and though I still think KDE apps look cluttered, it's improving. The oxygen icon set is looking quite nice. I imagine the real benefits of KDE4 won't be seen until application developers start making use of the major changes underneath the hood. I like what I see, though, and will probably go back to using KDE after it's had some time to stabilize.

Yes it definately is coming along nicely, I will be following it closely. I really look forward to seeing Solid and Plasma being used more. I have been using the oxygen icons on KDE 3 for a long while but they are definately improving by the week.

the screenshots look good, ive not personally tried it.
It seems fedora 8 will be the first distro to have it out the box.
