N800 OS2008 "released"

Post by coolfrood » Sun Nov 18, 2007 8:24 am

I'm sure many of you N800 owners were waiting for the OS2008 release. It turns out that people have figured out a way to get into the Nokia website and download the N810 version of the firmware. I followed the procedure. Worked flawlessly and now my N800 is rocking OS2008. It seems to be much faster so far, and the interface is a lot cleaner, with a lot less of gratuitous curves and gradients in the old version.

Here are the instructions:

Enjoy!

The new OS release may make Buy.com's deal as of today of $199.99 free shipping too good to pass up.

I guess it's finally time for me to pull the trigger on this.

Yeah, it's a strange combination of sickening and elating that Black Friday has finally bled over onto the internet in a big way. My inbox is full of "coupons" from various places I shop online.

The best one so far is Dragon Pearl Tea:
As a special thanks to our online customers, we're offering a discount on our organic teas and gifts. When you order, put the code [ 1865 ] in the blank that says "Promotion Code" and it will take 15% off the total at dragonpearltea.com. The discount code is good for any of your family and friends as well, through December.
I have no affiliation with them whatsoever, FWIW. I like their tea a lot, though, and considering I was planning to order some of it very soon, this was a welcome sight!
Shared pain is lessened, shared joy is increased; thus do we refute entropy.
