Anyone here use the linux citrix client?

Post by hellonorman » Thu Dec 20, 2007 1:26 am

I managed to get it working about a week ago and it stopped working today. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with it.

I have not used it since I left my last employer. Our server was running w2k or w2k3 server. We were accessing the ctrix server via the web with the client installed on rh9,. I would check to see if the ctrix server has changed in some way. Remember that allegedly MS owns citrix now. Are windoze clients still working?

Actually I should have been more specific. The client seems to run fine. It's the certificates that I keep having problems with. Accepting the certificate in the browser doesn't seem to have any effect on the citrix client. A week ago when I set it up I kept getting a cert error 61. I went to smartcom and downloaded the root certificate and saved it in the certs folder and everything worked fine. Yesterday the error came back. So I redownloaded the cert but it still doesn't work.

I'm at a loss on where I get the correct certificate for the citrix client.

I do not remember having that problem except to say I think I accepted the certificates from citrix server itself.

I use the citrix client at work. They run the metaframe server where you only get the active application window instead of a full blown desktop. It works pretty well.

I just looked at the citrix site and the version of the client is up to 10 now. I was thinking that you needed a special link for the browser to work right. That just could of been a coincidence for java jre. In building the image, I was installing quite a few things including support for the banner software at the time..

Yes I have installed the latest client, I believe it is 10.6. Yes Pat the client works fine when the certificates are taken care of.

I installed the client under home directory. I am attempting to connect to https://csg.mtstrans.com. I installed two weeks ago and then accepted the mtstrans certificate but was getting an error about not trusting the root authority. A little research led me to download the startcom root certificate and place it in the ../keystore/cacerts directory of the client. This worked for about a week.

Then I got an email from mtstrans that they had to renew their certificate. After they renewed I was prompted again at the mtstrans site to accept the cert again. But I now get the same error I had originally. I can log in to the server but whenever I access an application I get an error 61 about not trusting the root authority.

Yes davijordan you need that link but I already have it. The problem is with the certs but I have no clue how to fix it. Or why just accepting the new cert from mtstrans didn't just work.

Cool... I did not put the client in the home directory. I think I may have put it in the opt or the usr/share possibly. So any user could use it and have less chance of it getting miscombobulated. I found original win2k server and citrix server for win2k software on ebay for 25 bucks each. One of these days......
