Pat: What happened with Arch Linux?
Did you like it this time around?
Re: Pat: What happened with Arch Linux?
I liked it the last time around. My issue was updates causing breakages. That was a couple years back. It seems to be better now. I'll keep it around for a bit longer.Iain wrote:Did you like it this time around?

You kept pretty quiet during the Arch interview, so I thought you might have hated it and was keeping tactfully quiet.

Maybe you have me confused for Allan or Linc? I asked a bunch of questions.Iain wrote:You kept pretty quiet during the Arch interview, so I thought you might have hated it and was keeping tactfully quiet.

Sorry - you asked most of the questions. You were just quiet about your own recent experiences with Arch.
Re: Pat: What happened with Arch Linux?
Nothing. It continues to be fast and stable (at least for me, never had any breaks after upgrade) Linux distribution.
Personally I don't think there's much changed over the years. Just evolutional improvements here and there. And rolling releases are IMHO a nice way to produce a up-to-date distribution. Yeah, I like Arch.

I like Arch Linux and their approach. I like pacman, it's up there with apt-get. While Arch may not be for everyone any serious Linux user should at least check it out. I still predominantly run/use Ubuntu/Debian but I'll definitely keep Arch around in some capacity.
