I used to use Adobe Premiere until I got into linux. I've been using Avidemux2 for years and rarely have had a problem with it. Everyone talks about the new one to rule them all - kden live. I've tried to use it numerous times and every damn time it fails. I can't edit any mpg or nuv files from my knoppmyth box. It wont even recognize divx files from stage6. I was able to get it to import a mp4 file (yippee). I made one small cut of the clip (no effects or any additions) and when I tried to render it the damn thing hard locked my computer. Dual Core, 1.5 GB ram, you'd think would handle it.
And whats with the rendering choices? How vague can you be? Their own site doesn't even explain them. Why can't I export the same format I imported?
I really WANT to use and love Kden live. Avidemux, while older and not as "pretty", does most everything I need it to do, is very flexible and stable. I'm not a mac user, so I'll take stability over looks anytime.
