Following the lead of Dell and Lenovo, HP will begin selling computers with SLED:

Not my first choice in Linux distros but at least you're not forced to pay for Veesta. A step in the right direction.

Yet you still send money to Microsoft through Novell's patent deal with them.

I don't know how much it is, but I really do not care all that much, because I just refuse to pay an extortion fee to something company going around racketeering like the freaking mafia!

HP already sells excellent Linux machines if you are willing to install yourself. I bought an HP Pavilion desktop a few months ago and it runs Linux very well. All the hardware works, and the system is extremely stable and quiet, and cleanly designed internally. Lots of space, good airflow, and plenty of room to add new components and upgrade hardware.
