52 Million school kids to use Linux

"Brazil's Ministry of Education ("MEC") is installing Linux in labs used by 52 million schoolchildren, reports KDE developer Mauricio Piacentini. Piacentini's blog post describes MEC's "Linux Educacional 2.0" as "a very clean Debian-based distribution, with KDE 3.5, KDE-Edu, KDE-Games, and some tools developed by the project."
Linux Mint 9 Gnome, Ubuntu 8.10 Easy Peasy , Open Suse, Windows XP PRO and others.

They'll all be discounted after MS makes a deal to get these dual booting the free version of Windows XP they will give them which will morph into 52 million computers shipping with XP, the Linux side of things quietly disappearing (as a few gov't officials move into their new mansions).
