Had this error on a customers computer. Apart from telling them to "use a real browser" i did a search and found this.
With the recent competition building between Google and MS maybe this is one of them blocking the other ?? Seem MS blocking this Google Toolbar for IE.
Just a thought

I'd be more likely to think that IE is just a bad piece of software that crashes than to attribute this to malice on behalf of Microsoft or Google. Internet Explorer is bad enough on it's own. Add something to it, and it crashes. Not surprising.
I've known plenty of people to have stability problems with IE add-ons.

Except that Microsoft has purposely broken other vendor's software before. There was an old lawsuit regarding something breaking under DOS and the more recent problem with MSN not displaying properly on Opera. Both were done purposely. I'd say shoddy product and nefarious schemes are equally likely.
I recall that Windows 3.1 refused to install if you were running any DOS other than MS-DOS or IBM PC-DOS. This may be what you're referring to.brakthepoet wrote:Except that Microsoft has purposely broken other vendor's software before.
