That certainly is lot lower than the requirements for xp.
The lowest for a modern linux distro is 16 MB but that won't provide x-windows afaik.
X-windows was actually very bloated in its day. mac os and windows 3.x could all run on less than 1 mb and x-windows needed 4 mb.

My brother who is a windoze fanatic really enjoyed that article. We may try xp again this time with sp3 in qemu on the ppc to see if it does any better vs reactos.
