state of linux and video chat

Post by snarkout » Sat May 24, 2008 1:45 am

Can anyone recommend a good, verified solution for linux and video chat? I'm probably going to be moving long distance from my family for a few months, and would really, really like to be able to say good night to my kids each night.

Gizmo does video? Stickam works with Linux as long as you have a flash enabled webcam. We did a video conference room via Stickam during last week's show.

Video does not work under Linux:

Only the Nokia version supports video conferencing.

I picked up a Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX:

Plugged it in and it worked immediately in Ubuntu.
