kanotix repos

Post by snarkout » Fri Oct 07, 2005 10:58 pm

What's the current repo list for kanotix? I've googled around, but there seem to be several different lists. I know I had to change my sources.list a few times to get things working right a while back.

edit: Oh, and pinnings would be helpful too. TIA.

Last time I was on the Kanotix IRC channel, I was given this command to update my repositories:

Code: Select all

wget -O/etc/apt/sources.list http://kanotix.com/files/fix/sources.list.k32 ; apt-get update

Speaking of Kanotix, there are some new Kanotix-theme elements on http://www.kde-look.org, if anyone's interested.

I designed a cartoon Kanotix piranha a week or so ago and made this wallpaper with it. Then etorix, someone from the Kanotix IRC, took it and made a KDE splash screen and a shutdown graphic with it.

Kind of fun, this open source stuff. :D

Cool -- thanks a lot - that's a very useful directory! That default file has crazy pinnings in it! Also - that's a very sweet mascot -- I saw that on kde-look the other day, and didn't even look at who drew it.

I have used that above command a few times with success, however last night I used it and I get :

E: Type '<html>' is not known on line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.

I get it as well well I open synaptic and I have no repositories. Can any one offer suggestions or help or tell me what I did? I appreciate any advice, thanks.
