I don't remember all the details. But when the whole patent protection racket originally came out about the Microsoft/Novell deal, didn't Novell really play that part of it down basically saying that was not the main goal? It's interesting (but not surprising) that in a pretty short time Novell has gone from that, to now bragging about how they conspired with MS to do a pay for protection racket and weaken FOSS for the whole community.The goal of the Microsoft/Novell partnership, initiated in November of 2006, is to build a bridge between open source and proprietary software to deliver interoperability and intellectual property (IP) peace of mind for organizations operating mixed-source IT environments, said Susan Heystee, vice president and general manager of global strategic alliances at Novell.
