Anyone listen to the last LInux Action Show? After dissing Richard Stallman inappropriately early on, they later went on about how after season 9 (what??) they're going to move LAS to a youtube only show changing the format. I think their addiction to drugs has finally taken over. This explains why they're always talking so fast. Also why Bryan is trying to sell software on Linux, he's trying to make some money for his habit. I think we need to come together and do an intervention. Maybe see if that intervention show on cable will help us,

.
I'm thinking I'll drop the feed before then anyway. However, if a few of us made intervention videos, it could be pretty funny. Splice them together and put them on youtube for them,

.

Their web site posts have been heavily infected with the Microsoft disease. Maybe they have been infected by it. Bryan sounds like he works for ms or did at one time and is still under the balmer spell. Your right an intervention needs to be done.

You left out when they said 2.6.19 was the latest kernel.
They can continue their current direction if they want. The show is entertaining, but if they go video I'm dropping the feed. If they want to sell Linux to people on Youtube, good luck to them.

All kidding aside those guys do a quality show. I'm sad that they're going to the short video format. Yeah I could watch videos while I'm driving to/from work but I don't want to get into an accident. Sometimes life forces you to make decisions. There are only so many hours in the day.

With all due respect to the hard work they have put into the show in the past, it _used_ to be a quality show. The last month or two has been one long plea for attention, and though I'm kinda sad to say it, I'm just as glad they are going to a format that I can't really use (podcasts are for the long day of driving at work, for me.)
I don't think it's the drugs, I think their hat bands are too tight.

I'm not sure how I feel about their views on software and creating software that is commercial on Linux. At this moment I'm not using an commercial software that I have paid for on my Fedora install, but that doesn't mean I'm against it.
I also feel that last few shows have gone done in content quality, but it has normally been entertaining.
Alas, I will also be dropping their feed. I have no desire to watch them on youtube. I don't watch videos on youtube now, and their show won't convince me to start. I like to walk for exercise, and podcasts are an added way to enjoy a good 50 minute walk. So I will have to try something new. I'm going to start a new thread asking for recommendations on great podcasts to replace LAS, add your picks.

Yep....shark jumpin time.....
Personally, I would like to have seen them DROP everything BUT the Linux Action Show. SCREW beer is tasty. TO HELL with Mack Murphy.....friggin YouTube?!!?!??
I DO watch some video shows. They typically are longer and more entertaining than a 5 minute blurb on OpenBSD. The typical YouTuber ISN'T going to watch this crap.
They will remain in the feed, but if I load it on my MP3 player and it's NOT a longer show, it's getting skipped. Hell even the audio blurb they had on Ubuntu/Kubuntu was fucking wrong saying Kubuntu wasn't released yet when on the 30th I got BOTH Ubuntu and Kubuntu ISO's OF 8.10. If they just wanted to end it....they should have just ended it and forget about LAS.
TLLTS.....doing crappy audio for longer than anyone and STILL better then monkey's on YouTube.

they became irrelevent to my interests after the first "episode" of this new "season".
That "guest cohost" Jimmy or whatever really put me off to them.
And yah, it's all one big session of Attention Whoring at this point.
In their defense though, it was their show that put me on to TLLTS and other more technical podcasts. I do not "do" this thing they call youtube. But then again, it isn't relevant to my interests.

I disagree with what bryan was saying on the software as well. I am running a very small business..non profitable but hopefully it will be some day very very very soon I hope, but I use all open source software to creat web pages, video, advertising, audio editing and here pretty soon for recording. I'm still trying to get 100% moved over. I'm very excited about it. And it's just sad to me that they would think that open source needs to have closed source apps to succeed.
