In Europe the far right is rearing its ugly head too . Its actively noticeable in Italy where government policy is to fingerprint Romany people. I do hope this is taken to the EU commision of human rights . The recent results in Austria where two far right parties collectively gather 30% of the vote.
A lot of these votes were protests. The major different between Germany and Austria after ww2 was that Austria is taught they were the victims of the war whereas Germany bend over backwards apologising. Many therefore don't know history so well.
Also in Denmark the DPP have parliamentary support of the current coalition , they have a ugly immigration policy due to them. One thing that separates them is that due to Denmark being occupied during the war , they certainly don't have a neo-nazi manifesto, in fact they support Israel bizarrely .
The bnp over here has gained similar votes , there "image" has certainly changed over the years, I even saw a speech by the leader who talks how a few jews from the past did not damage england.

This is part of what the leader said , its full of shit, but I honer freedom of speech enough for him to say it.

You mean the EU Court of Justice or the European Court of Human Rights. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_C ... man_Rights.allix wrote:Its actively noticeable in Italy where government policy is to fingerprint Romany people. Way to go comrade Allix, you managed to turn my explanation on it's head!allix wrote:Also in Denmark the DPP have parliamentary support of the current coalition , they have a ugly immigration policy due to them.
Danish People's Party, or DPP, is the parliamentary support for our current coalition government, which is a so called minority government: "A minority government or a minority cabinet is a cabinet of a parliamentary system formed when the governing political party or coalition of parties does not have a majority of overall seats in the parliament."
In Danish we talk about the "VKO flertal" (Flertal = Majority), which refers to the parliamentary majority of the Liberal Party, Conservative People's Party and Danish People's Party combined. Together they hold 90 seats in parliament, which is what is needed to hold executive power.
They hate Muslims instead, and more recently Poles as well, since we have had streams of Polish workers coming here for a few years now.allix wrote:One thing that separates them is that due to Denmark being occupied during the war , they certainly don't have a neo-nazi manifesto, in fact they support Israel bizarrely .

Please explain "fingerprint Romany people".
I feel sorry for OBama, I would not want to be him if he becomes elected president. there are too many nutcases out there that have the same mentality of John Wilkes Booth.

I would say European court of human rights but you knew the gist of what I was sayingTsuroerusu wrote: You mean the EU Court of Justice or the European Court of Human Rights. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_C ... man_Rights.
Okay I made some technical errors, but please explain the terrible 24 year rule ?Tsuroerusu wrote: Way to go comrade Allix, you managed to turn my explanation on it's head!![]()

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/24_year_ruleThe 24 year rule is a Danish law that aims to cut down on forced marriages and family reunification immigration.
The law poses four requirements
1. Age - Non-resident spouses can only be united and thus cohabit with their spouse living in Denmark, when both parties have reached the age of 24 years.
2. Ties - The couple’s aggregate ties to Denmark must be stronger than those to the country of origin. However, the demands of aggregate ties are not applicable to people, born in Denmark or people who acquired Danish citizenship as young children and have lived in Denmark for more than 28 years.
3. Economy - The Danish spouse must prove he or she, can financially support the new couple.
4. Residence - The couple must show that they own or rent a residence of at most two people per room, and at least 20 m². a person.
The law draws criticism from human rights organizations.
The law has also been criticized by anti-immigration activists, saying it is not fulfilling its purpose. Instead of cutting down on forced marriages, girls are now being forced by their parents to either move back to their homeland, or to other, more lenient countries, such as Sweden.[1]
What I am basically getting at Troels is the far right is becoming noticeable in politics today. I hope the red coalition in Denmark wins next time.

With that sort of mentality your spelling isn't gonna be much better than that of George W. Bush!allix wrote:I would say European court of human rights but you knew the gist of what I was sayingTsuroerusu wrote: You mean the EU Court of Justice or the European Court of Human Rights. Except that the words you used gave the impression that DPP is the government party, BIG error.allix wrote:Okay I made some technical errors,Tsuroerusu wrote: Way to go comrade Allix, you managed to turn my explanation on it's head!![]()

There isn't really much to explain, it's designed to keep Muslim immigrants from the middle east away, if a person is from another EU country, this law doesn't apply at all, because of the EU's four freedoms, which overrule immigration laws of member states:allix wrote:but please explain the terrible 24 year rule ?
... snip ...
It's as simple as that. I don't buy for a second that it cuts down on forced marriages, all it does is force Danes with spouses from non-EU countries to go live in Sweden.The free movement of goods;
The free movement of persons (and citizenship), including free movement of workers, and freedom of establishment;
The free movement of services;
The free movement of capital.
I knew what you meant, and yeah I agree with you on that.allix wrote:What I am basically getting at Troels is the far right is becoming noticeable in politics today.

I meant the attitude you demonstrated with this sentence: "I would say European court of human rights but you knew the gist of what I was sayingallix wrote:what was spelt wrong?Tsuroerusu wrote: With that sort of mentality your spelling isn't gonna be much better than that of George W. Bush!![]()
Well, if you would have said that, why didn't you? I don't find the fact that I can sort through and make sense of non-sense, to be an excuse to not have clear and accurate communication, because sometimes it actually causes misunderstanding.

Re: Neo-nazis attempted to shoot Obama
Italy has been overrun by people from other countries for centuries. Targeting one group or another has been going on in Europe and especially in Italy since before the Middle ages. What else is new? Somebody needs to go back and read the history books. What is now the Vatican was probably the worst at doing this if you disputed their word. It still goes on. Probably one of the major reasons my ancestors who were born there came to this country from Sicily and Italy. Even when I was a child here in Texas you did not mention you were Italian. Legal or not it happens in this country also. It is not so openly bad now, but there were certain redneck type towns that if you were not the norm, you did not go into that town after dark if you valued your life. I remember all the trouble Lana (aka Regina) who is Chinese and I had when we were first together. The worst was from our own families. My mom almost had a heart attack when I first brought Lana home. Like one comedian said about this country that all minorities have gone through that prejudiced nightmare and now it is the turn of the people from the middle east to get their turn. .I do not condone it, but that is the way it is.allix wrote:Here is a couple of new articles on it .eddie wrote:Please explain "fingerprint Romany people".

Its strange when you think that the usa was actually a country not that long ago where native indians lived and then europeans took over and call it there place.
When I hear from white nationalist talk about usa for whites and such things they forget that it never was theres.
This can also equally apply in Europe, the Romans were in England long before Anglo, saxons and Jutes ...
And of course where does Romans come from? and where does the Romans descenders come from and so on .. scientists have shown that if you want to keep tracing back family roots we all originate in Africa and had dark skin. Through migration, different temperatures and food , skin and facial features start
to change.
Culture I do of course respect as thats based on the country evolving, to give an example , if I wanted to move to some country and the national language was not english, i would make the effort to learn that language. Quite often this does not happen and communities evolve outside of the general population and tensions can arise from this. Sadly the far right exploit this instead of thinking rationally about the issue.

Re: Neo-nazis attempted to shoot Obama
Thanx for the kind words. I do not like to talk about it but once in a while you have to. Sicily probably has the most middle eastern/african influence. You can tell by the food they eat. Their are quite a few people of Jewish descent in the city of Rome (la citta del Roma). I am told. Northern Italy has a lot of German and eastern European influence. I do not speak Spanish, Cantonese, or italian, but you can see the influence over the language from both Spain, France and a bit of the Germanic languages.. Parli Italiano? Parlez-vous italien? italian/french | Come sta? Como esta? italian/spanish | Etc.... Unless someone came to Italy recently they are probably a hybrid of many ancestors. As for everyone descending from Africa, I heard there are some disputes to that theory. The way the world is intermixing now, maybe one day it will not matter where you came from. My daughter looks more Cherokee than Latin or Chinese. I think every other generation or so goes through the I need to speak my native language syndrome. Most people do not speak Spanish (Texmex) here in Texas, but you find more and more Spanish words introduced into the general vocabulary here every day. They say it is the language of the future for the US. The way the Chinese economy is going, maybe one should learn Cantonese or Mandarin also to survive. I wonder if Pat speaks Castillian Spanish? I thought he was Italian, but he is definitely not! I forgot my high school Spanish teacher was named Davila.
