Congratulations America!

Great seeing democracy in action!

Also, mr. Obama is the first colored leader in the western world.

A nation founded by slave holders now has an African American as its President. We are fortunate to to get to see this great Country take this historic step forward in fulfilling its promise of what it could be. :D

For the next 4 years (at least) this is what Americans and the world will see on a regular basis as the family that occupies the White House. What a powerful psychic effect this will have at helping to diminish racism wherever it still exists.

I voted for Mccain but this is truly an awesome time to be alive and be American! What a great victory for all Americans. :)

I'm glad the election is over. What's the over/under of Israel attacking Iran before January?

Woah, turn that frown upside down Mr. topic changer. I'd say the chances are 80% to 100% in favor of an attack.

With all due respect, the Indian nations were here long before white man ever settled on the east coast. Also too the original pilgrims were not slave owners to my knowledge. All the greedy people came later. A person should not get a job because of the color of his or her skin. They should get a position based on merits. Rumor has it that the president elect allegedly has illegal alien family members here in the US. Funny the news media did not report this till the last minute. It will be also interesting to find out the connections he has to the middle east that were hushed up about. It has been said the president elect has some skeletons in his closet that will become known soon. Some people even predict a possible divorce from his wife. Get ready for your taxes to skyrocket.

So true, we're in big trouble when it comes to everything other than progress for equality. Other than on that sinle issue, which appears to be what this election was about, we're in deep trouble as a country. Everything that our country was founded on that made it work so well is kind of the opposite of the belief of the uninformed and misguided people that support Obama.

I disagree. I generally support republican and conservative ideals. This election was about much more than that single issue. The republicans are being held accountable for the piss poor job they have done for the last 8 years. I believe this country was founded on accountability also.

Had the republicans had a more inspiring candidate they may just have won again this year. But people are looking at their homes value down 30% and their savings and 401k's down 30%. These people were not going to be persuaded again by the hypothetical fear of a democratic president while they were looking at the real fear of failed policies of the last 8 years.

While I don't agree with all the things Obama wants to do, I do believe that he is a smart man who will surround himself with smart people. I'm willing to see what he can do if it means holding the current group of republicans accountable.

Good luck to president elect Obama. He'll have to actually get some things done now instead of just talking about them. He has no excuses as the Dems control both houses. I don't think you can vote "present" as president. See you in 4 years.
