Not news to us but good to see others making the same observations. It's The Register so take it with a grain of salt.

Yes, that is good news. Hopefully it spreads and puts Apple in its place. Yes, it's The Reg, but sometimes they do make some genuinely valid points.Patrick wrote:http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/12/04 ... microsoft/

Good article, and I thought it was tame and not overly biased. We all see Apple for what they are, and many tech news sites and podcasts cover all the shortcomings of Apple regularly. People still kept using PCs when Microsoft got in trouble, so I just don't think that many users care. I think a lot of Mac users buy them for status like all the idiots that pay a premium for name branded clothing, purses, flashy automobiles with big rims.... There are too many flossy people in the world willing to overpay for products and the illusionary status in order to stroke their egos. They deserve to get taken for every cent.

Yeah, the OpeniMac makes the Psystar systems look like gold. That is one ugly-ass case compared to what Psystar's OpenPro looks like. At least the OpenPro is more stylish. For a crappy-looking computer like the OpeniMac, you'd be better off just building your own Hackintosh.

Re: Duh, Apple is more evil than M$
One of my brothers wanted me to set up a Hackintosh for him. I had to decline. I did not have anything new enough per se to even try setting it up for experiment. Secondly I did not even have the intel version of mac osx. I do have the older ppc version though on original dvd. When you have linux why waste the money on apple even just for the software.
