We made contact just under the edge of the canopy. I say "we" made contact...the initial contact was his right index finger stabbing into my chest.
"It's _____ ________ hippy freaks like you that are costing us our jobs. You got any idea how many people are getting pink slips because of your b_________? Every time you put that ____ on someone's computer, some guy trying to feed his family has to go home and tell his wife that he lost his job. How about I snatch that silly little ponytail and give you a tour of the parking lot?"
The veins in his temples were at critical mass and he physically spit as he screamed at me in front of his van. This is where the narrative is going to stop, and it's going to stop for two reasons. First, there's no good way to tell the rest of the story. Second, it's because that's when any verbal communication between him and I stopped. He made first hostile contact and I didn't do anything but react. In the end it was no big deal...but of the two of us...
I am the only one of the two that did not involuntarily leave his feet that day.
Ken has some weird shit happening to him.

Hey, he should have mentioned to that guy that ie7 has had a bug since it was released that still has not been addressed. When pasting into the search tool the text is oversized and bold and then when you click search it doesn't actually see the text until you paste it again and then the black text is still visible around the edges of the search feild until you close and re-open the browser. And then made it clear that that's why the loosers are getting the boot. hahaha. but really can that fix that?

LOL!
I had read about that. It's a shame, but you know what? If you base your IT expertise on only putting out fires in such systems like Windows, then you limit your marketability as an IT professional. That guy should have taken the time to actually learn about the alternatives out there, and read up on where the IT arena is going. Most of us already know that FOSS has been growing in the computing space, and for those that just ignored it as an unworthy competitor to Microsoft and Windows they now realize that they've just shot themselves in the foot.
As for Geek Squad (which I'm sure is what he was talking about), if they would be willing to evolve with the IT/computing environment, they wouldn't be having this problem. But the short-sightedness of the Microsoft teat is usually the path of least resistance to those in charge.

Good on him. I would have reacted very similarly. Maybe with a direct Jeff Sinclair quote as well: "You want me? You know where to find me..."
