The "stars" rating," Calder said, is an "easy, intuitive way" to see the processors in connection with one another, in a way that he said communicates "relative performance, not a price-performance type of thing," he said. They will be applied to both desktop and notebook product lines, but not the Atom, he said.

I don't understand why Intel is doing this. It's really quite stupid IMO. I guess for Joe and Jane User it's an easier way for them to tell the difference. Not quite fair to the Atom, though. I guess this is in conjunction with their disdain for Atom?

I think Intel's next marketing campaign for the Atom will be something like this...
"The Atom is capable of performing some computing tasks, but only one at a time, and it gives you herpes. So if you like herpes, then the Atom is for you."
