Post by jedimasterk » Mon May 04, 2009 7:39 pm

So when is Linux developers going to start focusing on Video/Photo editing apps for Linux. I mean apps that will get the attention of Professionals!. This is where we lack big time!. Like what Windows/Apple has.

Those "Professionals" will never be happy until the Adobe suite of applications is ported over to Linux. Right now there are a ton of applications that fit the bill already on Linux.

Why the quotes?

You would have to have complete file compatibility for a conversion to be made. One of my brothers works in a small town paper and has even tried gimp, but he does not want to go through the learning curve or file compatilibily issues. He owns both Apple and MSWindows based computers. He is really into music, so I am trying to learn ubuntu studio so I can get him hooked on that. Maybe then he will spend more time on The Gimp. I would like to see Irfanview also ported to linux. http://www.boekhoff.info/?pid=linux&tip ... w-on-linux

And then there's the "small" problem of video editing.
