Just a comment on the HDHomerun. I have no problems recording two streams simultaneously from the HDHomerun. I'm using Jean-Yves Avenard's patches for VDPAU. I don't know if something in those patches fixes that bug about only being able to record one show at a time with the HDHomerun.

Keep up the great work guys!

The simultaneous recording thing is listed on the release notes for 0.22:

It's a wiki entry, take it with a grain of salt I guess. I definitely want to get an HDHomerun sometime in the near future. If my QAM card really is flaking out it will be sooner than later.

Hey guys,

If you want to try OTA-HD on the cheap, you can build your own antennae using the directions below.

http://www.digitalhome.ca/ota/superantenna/design.htm

I am able to pickup OTA signals from 50 miles away with a Phillips VHF/UHF antennae in my attic that I purchased at a local Lowes store. It is like the old antennas that everyone used to have back in the day when there was no Cable or Satellite. I've been meaning to try the homemade antennae above and point it in the opposite direction as my boughten one but haven't gotten around to it.

Keep up the great podcast.

I am thinking of building this antenna (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWQhlmJTMzw). I was doing ohter things while listening to the show, but the two input card discussion threw me till I went back and saw abc, cbs, and pbs (non MSnbc) stations were not clear. I have a dtv box to work with our old analog tv. We get about 30 air stations with just rabbit ears, but about ten are too flaky to see, I almost canceled the tv service, except that American football season is coming up and I got them to reduce my rate, for my whole bill by twenty percent.

Here is my blog post about my large antenna in my attic. I was using just a small UHF antenna until PBS switched to VHF.

The HDHomerun is great. I highly recommend it.

I wish there was a network attached device for picking up standard definition channels. I prefer network attached devices over PCI cards.

@kwisher I assume you are talking about my screen scrapes on my blog. In Ubuntu I just press Alt and PrtSc keys simultaneously, Ubuntu displays the Save Screenshot dialog, and I save it as a PNG image.

@kwisher

If you mean my "Recent MythTV Recordings" in the left hand column, that is a blog widget displaying the RSS feed from my PLAMythTV Identi.ca user, http://identi.ca/plamythtv.

I have a MythTV user job defined that runs the following command to post dents after a recording.

Code: Select all

wget -O /dev/null http://identi.ca/api/statuses/update.xml --http-user=plamythtv --http-passwd=MyPasswordGoesHere --post-data="status=#recorded %TITLE% at %STARTTIMEISO%" > /dev/null 2>&1
Below is the URL where I got the information about MythTV denting.

Obviously you are not understanding what I am wanting to know. I don't want to know what you are recording. You show a screen capture of a application showing your tuner info for a particular tv station. The first capture shows info for PBS, then NBC. Is this coming from the HD-Homerun or a separate application? I have never seen this before.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. That is an HDHomerun configuration tool found here: http://www.silicondust.com/downloads/linux

Re: Episode 07 - MythTV 0.22 Preview - HDHomeRun

Post by J-e-f-f-A » Wed Sep 09, 2009 10:45 am

I have a HD HomeRun and it works perfectly on 0.21-fixes - I regularly have simulatenous recordings from both tuners.

Trunk has undergone many changes in order to implement "Multirec" on the HDHR (recording multiple channels from the same multiplex using only one of the HDHR tuners). And it's still being worked on, so there are issues to be expected right now. I'm sure they'll have things ironed out before 0.22 is released. ;-)
