Flash 10.1 pre-release with hardware acceleration
Man, this seems so quick. Is Adobe really trying to step up to the plate? Maybe its because of all the demand from Hulu, Netflix and what not.

Only the windows version:
"Yes, you read right—only Windows gets the graphics-card-powered HD acceleration for now"
Hopefully the Linux version isn't too far behind.

Maybe the Hulu desktop app won't perform like crap in fullscreen. Adobe always focuses their efforts on Windows first, then the Linux and Mac versions. Keep in mind it is a "pre-release" so maybe for an official 10.1 they will release all versions at once. I still hate Adobe and flash though.

Totally agree with you but it would be a Godsend. My kids insist on playing those flash based games. Plus Hulu is a must if you forget to record a show. Not having your CPU pegged at 70% is definitely a good thing.sk8er3810 wrote:I still hate Adobe and flash though.

It is a definately a good thing. If the hardware accel is released for Linux AND actually works I might hate Adobe lessPatrick wrote:Totally agree with you but it would be Godsend. Ubuntu Geek is alluding to that the flash 10.1 beta release will have hardware acceleration for Linux.
