Blood from a turnip? Acer Revo (Nvidia ION w/ 1 Meg)

Howdy!

I just picked up an Acer Revo to try as a frontend.

Any tricks for employing vdpau?
i have HDMI sound and very good picture on a 1080P set.
However the frame rate is a disturbing example of stutter vision.

Is the 256k set aside for the video card the issue?
Any settings you recommend?
(interlace method 1x or 2x etc)
If mythtv can select it, does it mean vdapu is loaded and running?

I'm probably leaning on a two gig ion 330 board to experiment with instead but want to know if there are some things I can try before sticking in more ram.

I've tried HW Bob 2x and the video is smooth. A little tearing here and there (especially at the top of the screen)
However, any others give poor results. Would extra memory help out here?

Go into the bios and give the maximum amount of RAM to your video card. That makes a huge difference. I also use Bob 2x on my Zotac box. It works very well.

Thanks to a previous mythcast show where you suggested just that, I've bumped to the 256k limit already. Anyhow, I'm sufficiently impressed to go order the dual zotec board with 2 gigs of ram. I may, however return the Revo if I have to pop in more ram. So, it looks like I'll be ordering even another zotec board. My logic: If I have to buy more ram, I might as well spend a few coins more to make it a dual system setup. (200 buck revo vs a164 board Plus 40 bucks ram plus 40 bucks case)

I don't know if you remember me pestering you constantly on a good slim client for myth. Thanks to your comments on a previous show.... I have found that solution.
