I think the part about Microsoft buying VMware is false. Someone from VMware made up that story as an April fools joke last April.

If what you say is true then I have been had. I thought Ms has at least a small share in vmware even if indirectly. At one time an ex ms boss was put in charge. mea culpa. The internet was wrong.

Check out the date on the post, the guy even mentions April fools. No recent news sites have anything related to this. The 2.5 billion seems pretty high too, plus that is the amount the april fools joke used.
