I have been trying to set up a frontend using Fedora 12. I got everything working fine, except there wasn't any sound. Turns out th problem is Pulse Audio. I set an environmental variable in my .bash_profile, and sound now works. Google to the rescue again.
Code: Select all
export EXPERIMENTALLY_ALLOW_PULSE_AUDIO=1

I had sound issue the other week. MythTV worked fine but everything else didn't output any sound(Boxee, Hulu, Totem/Rhythmbox, mplayer). I ended up uninstalling pulseaudio* and things seemed to work again. I wonder if this solution would have worked for me.
