Mythtv in the UK

Post by Pantera116 » Sat Feb 27, 2010 11:58 am

Hi
I have had a Mythtv setup for some time in various states of development.
My interest being in the UK was a setup for recording the UK Freeview terrestrial
over the air service. Basically the service currently consists of 6 multiplexes broadcast
along side the 5 analogue PAL channels. Each DVB-T multiplex carries 6 to 12 channels
and requires a single UHF channel slot just like a single analogue channel does.

Mythtv worked well with USB and PCI DVB-T tuners. The Multi rec option was very
useful as you could record multiple channels off a single multiplex at the same time.
You could therefore save tying up a second tuner. This keeps other tuners free for
live tv or more recordings off a different multiplex.

Hope this is useful information for some one.

To Pat and Dan, thanks for the Mythtv Cast .

Thanks for posting. Welcome to the forums. I really enjoy hearing from people in other countries and learning about their setups.
