I keep hearing on the tech show about h.264.
I want to know how to more quickly encode to that format.
video card: Nvidia GeForce 8600GT
Proc.: AMD64 2.1 Ghz dual core
If possible, I would need to use both cores to increase the conversion speed.
Currently, a ripped movie takes 4 hrs on HandBrake.
I need a fast way to encode h.264

Re: I need a fast way to encode h.264
I have used ffmpeg and winff. Winff gives me trouble with libfaac. Do you know of another codec that is good with h.264?

winff is just a gui frontend to ffmpeg. libfaac is one of the audio encoders. You can just substitute aac or libmp3lame (mp3 audio) for libfaac?ricemark20 wrote:I have used ffmpeg and winff. Winff gives me trouble with libfaac. Do you know of another codec that is good with h.264?
I'm moving this thread to the techshow board since it's a technical discussion.
