Mark Shuttleworth wants to build an FSF-blessed distro

I sure didn't see that one coming, looks like the Ubuntu guys wants to have a distro that the FSF will "certify" as a free Linux.

3 definitions of software nazi:
1. a person who is militantly opposed to using any sofware that isn't "free"
2. Stallman coolaid drinker and tinfoil hat wearer
3. distro maintainers that make the installation of pine extremely difficult

I wrote a big article on the nazis in 8th grade, and I know for a fact that there is nothing nazi about users of free software, because the GPL and GNU manifesto explicitly says that ANYONE can use the software, so does the open source definition "No discrimination against fields of endeavor", if nazis had made it, it would say that jews and peope that didnøt have blue eyes couldn't use the software. I've read A LITTLE of Hitler's Mein Kampf book which is basicly kind of a nazi-bible, but that is probaly the worst racism you possibly can image, and I can assure you, RMS is not a nazi because else he wouldn't even write the GPL the way he did.

The reason RMS is so strongly opposing non-free software, is because he had so many negative experiences during his days at the MIT Artificial Intelligence Lab. And when you think about it, the GPL doesn't prevent anyone from including proprietary plugins with free software, if RMS would truly disable this, he could by changing the GPL, but I don't see him doing that any time soon. I don't have a problem with him not wanting to use free software, it's kind of like the same thing about telling your friends that you're going out and drinking from when you're 13 years old, which is what I've been doing for years now. Denmark has one of the saddest records of very young kids getting drunk like mad. The "alcohol age limit" is 15 in DK but a lot of 13 years old also do it, it's just crazy.

There's a thread about it on the LUGRadio forums titled "gnubuntu." It seems Ubuntu isn't really that far from compliant. I think they want a distro where it's not possible to install non-free software.

It's great that they're working on this, but who would use it except RMS? Personally Fedora is free enough for me. If I don't want non-free stuff I don't have to install it. If I do, no one will make me feel bad about it. It's my decision.
