uninstall 1.0.7?

;ok, someone beat me over the head... i used pkgtool to remove the firefox package (for 1.0.7), but i can still run it. what's up? does removing a slackware package in pkgtool not "uninstall" a program? (if not, i must be confused as to what pkgtool is for, so someone please enlighten me) is there some way i can clean the old install out of my system or should i just install firefox 1.5 overtop of the existing version? i hate kruft.

;btw, i'm running slack 10.2 (full install) with dropline gnome (vanilla install).

Anyone know when the upgrade will hit the synaptic package manager for Kanotix? Or is there a better way to upgrade? Thanks.

That will depend on when it's available through Debian SID. I don't know where you could find that out. :(

Is there any news of this on the Kanotix forums?

I found this:

"firefox (1.4.99+1.5rc3.dfsg-2) unstable; urgency=low" will enter sid this evening (take care of the package rename), rc3 is the final version."

But it was dated yesterday. I am assuming it should be out by the weekend.

When you take into considering that KDE 3.4.2 got into the Debian unstable repository only two months, or something like that, ago I think it will be a long time before KDE 3.5 enters the Debian unstable repository.

I am now using this Firefox 1.5 "Deer Park", but I notice I do not have the scroll "bar" on the bottom or right side. I have to use "roller" in mouse to scroll. Anyone have a suggestion to get the scroll features back? Thanks.

According to the Mozilla website, Deer Park is in the Alpha 1 stage. Therefore, expect some bugs, as it is in the early development stage.

Ah, Okay thanks. I installed it from Synaptic. Should I of downloaded the "normal one" from Mozilla instead?

Figured it out. When I switched to default theme the scrolls came back, I also updated the "Sphere Gnome" theme I use and they are back. I guess I had to update to version for firefox 1.5. :oops:
