Hiya Linc, Pat, Dan & Allan

I'm catching up with a lot of previous tllts shows, speed listening from 83 upwards...

I like the Krom soundbites at the start of the shows (ep 91-95)

Also maybe you should official try to taste one different beer each week. If you give us a postal address, people from around the world could send your a set of bottles/cans for you to taste.

What I like about the show, is the "let's talk about Linux & technology among friends attitude". Listen to the show, I feel I nearly am part of the team, laughting sometimes and taking notes at other times.

While episode 100 is past for you, I'm looking forward to it (listening to 96 right now).

One more note, it's very important that the show stays fun for you to do. This can be achieve, by doing the show live each weak. I my humble opinion, if you do too much of a post-editing to get the mp3/ogg files out on the site, it will slowly turn into a burden. It must stay KISS (Keep It Simple & Stupid).

Once thing I notice with the mp3 files I listen on my Creative Zen Xtra (60GB) if I fast forward to far in the show the Zen fails to continue forward. I'm nut sure if it's due to an encoding issue or frame rate problem. A fast forward of 1 minutes, is actually a fast forward of 2 minutes in the show. Fast forwarding past 30mins on the counter (60 minutes into the show) bugs the Zen Xtra, and I move to the next file.

Awesome laptops are now avaiable. While it's not in the same leave as Pat's low cost laptop, PC torque has release today the 9750 laptop. It supports the AMD Athlon64 X2 4800+ processor and the nVIDIA Go 7800GTX card. It also has two slots for SATA 2.5" drives...

Any you know the drill... "Great Show, Keep up the rants, beer tasting, Asterisk updates & something about this OS called Linux".

Regards,
Erik

Thought I might add something to that Creative Zen story... I convert the ogg to an mp3 so that I can play it on my iPod. I pipe the output from ogg123 through lame to get an mp3 file. I found that if I don't specify the -s (sampling frequency) option, and set it to 22.05, it somehow defaults to twice that value and I get an mp3 that runs at twice the speed. Maybe there is something wrong with the encoding parameters or something.
