I agree. I do all my stuff in Vim. In an emergency I do tweaks in Notepad on Windows, but other than that, Vim is the best. If you're writing modern web pages, all your styling is in a CSS stylesheet. The actual HTML is pretty simple and you don't need a lot of frills.

If you don't want to learn HTML/CSS though, Vim won't be of much use. HTML isn't all that hard, though, and is a good extreme beginner's intro to coding.
