Here it is, folks. All the Arch goodness you know and love, only half the fat. We've added some better hardware detection, stock initrd support for neat things like encrypted root filesystems, network profiles, and more little goodies here n' there. Thanks for the patience, everyone."

That is good news. Although, once Arch is installed and you update the system, you're running the latest version of everything anyway.

Im in the same boat. I really want to rebuild my old box but I need another harddrive. Im not going to mess with my main box because its stable and I want it to stay that way. Besides there isn't much that can be improved upon Gentoo IMHO :wink:

Well, it's been over two months now of using Arch linux and a handful of Pacman system updates.... all done without incident what-so-ever. 8)

I'm impressed, to say the least.
