No, I just don't see the point of buying an OS-less laptop, or one with just Linux, when for roughly the same price I can get OS X with it, and install/dual-boot Linux myself.

Well, I can save a 100 dollars by buying a laptop that don't have Windows preinstalled, and I want a laptop where I can acutally use the internal wireless card

Well, those drivers has just come out, and they're not based on official specs, but stuff people has been forced to "figure out" because some of the assholes over at Broadcom can't release some specs so we can make our own drivers and make them money!
Broadcom sucks, that's it said in plain english. I generally don't trust the relieability of bleeding-edge drivers that has just surfaced, and by the way, how easy is it actually to get those Broadcom cards working? I think people are gonna have a hell of a time getting it to work, in which case I just buy a laptop that comes with a Centrino wireless card or go buy an Atheros-based D-Link wireless card.

Get a refurb from tigerdirect or something. For $400 right now, you can get a thinkpad t22 with 900 mhz, 256, and dvd/cdrw. Thats a good deal even compared to pat's 3vil walmart brand laptop:

Not to mention thinkpads have far superior keyboards compared to ibooks (though powerbook keyboards are okay).
