You know Sony, they don't have a brain.CptnObvious999 wrote:I don't understand why Sony doesn't just give up and stop blocking homebrew.
Try to tell that to the PSP fanboys out there, that's just dangerous to do, by the way Nintendo just released the US version of Electroplankton, looks very cool and tops at Amazon!CptnObvious999 wrote:There arn't many good games for it might as well let people make their own.

Well, a lot of people I know who has a PSP has their mind set on Nintendo only producing "kiddy games" and the DS are for nerds....... which I personally find ridiculous. Also, a lot of people who buys a PSP buy it because they can watch video on it or put emulators and stuff like that on it.CptnObvious999 wrote:Actually I have heard a lot of PSP owners unhappy because there arn't many games but I guess theres a difference between owners and fanboys

If it weren't for the homebrew scene, I would probably just be using my PSP as an mp3 player and video player, although though it doesn't do either task well. The few games that I have been interested in lately, both Bleach games and Taiko no Tatsujin Portable, have only been released in Japan and will probably not get a US release. Wipeout Pure is a good pickup and play game but I don't enjoy the game enough to play it for extensive periods of time. One thing that would get me interested in games for the PSP would be if more games supported Infrastructure mode.
Besides emulators, there are other good homebrew apps for the PSP.
PSPRadio - Listen to Shoutcast/Icecast streams (both mp3 and ogg)
PMP Mod - A video player that can play videos at many different resolutions, including the full resolution of the PSP (480x272).
File Assistant - A great file manager
PSP-OSS - An shell that will be able to do just about everything any version of the native PSP OS can do. The project is fairly new and it is a bit buggy in its current state.
PSPRevolution - A DDR clone that can play StepMania simfiles so there is a wide variety of songs that can be played
There are plenty more but these are apps that I use frequently. As for people dissing on the DS, check this out:

Bumba is cool though.
