I've actually never had KDE as a whole crash, Konqueror can crash maybe once a few days or something, but the "KDE desktop" is rock solid on pretty much every distro, except Kubuntu, I've been using: SUSE, Mandriva, Fedora, Gentoo, Debian, KNOPPIX, FreeBSD....CptnObvious999 wrote:KDE has almost never crashed on me on Gentoo. Runs great!

BTW After a while KDE starts getting slow but if you run "fc-cache -v" it should fix it. Go Here to find out why. (its at the bottom of the page)

I have never noticed anything like that, even back when I was using Mandrake 10.0 PowerPack, which used KDE 3.2.3, it still ran very speedy for a long time.CptnObvious999 wrote:BTW After a while KDE starts getting slow but if you run "fc-cache -v" it should fix it. I didn't notice it on mine but then I ran it anyways and I found KDE was fast again. It must have slowed down gradually over time without me knowing. I think I have had Gentoo for almost half a year now...Tsuroerusu wrote:I have never noticed anything like that, even back when I was using Mandrake 10.0 PowerPack, which used KDE 3.2.3, it still ran very speedy for a long time.CptnObvious999 wrote:BTW After a while KDE starts getting slow but if you run "fc-cache -v" it should fix it.
