Sweet! how hard was it to set it up on your gamecube? How well does it run? I would set it up if my brother hadn't of sold mine to get an Xbox 360. Bah no we're both unhappy but I still have my compy!

It's pretty slow compared to my P4 that I'm typing this on. I haven't tried running a GUI on it yet, I just got it up and running alittle while ago. I'll let you know what happens.

Cool, by the way, where do you store stuff? Is it a read-only file system or do you store stuff and log files over the network?

It's a read-only filesystem, but I can install stuff with apt-get as if I were using a live CD in memory. When I power off the GC, everything I've done will be erased most likely.

Well, the GameCube's design is actually quite efficient when regards to cooling, because you have direct airflow right through it so it's a quite stable piece of hardware.

If you have a Broadband Adapter, and a copy of Phantasy Star Online, you can run Linux on your GC over your LAN. There's also a ton of homebrew, and emulator stuff you can run too.

I might have to go out a and dig for a copy of PSO, might be a fun thing to do, too bad that GameCube Linux project never really took off like Xbox-Linux did.
