Why do many of these new distros. make you feel like you're in a bloody cartoon?! :x

Is this really the mentality of the so called "office professional" these days?

No wonder I don't attend many after-hours office get-togethers.

I strongly think this is fake, if you look in the taskbar you see a Windows XP networking icon, also one thing I noticed about Google is that they mostly hire brilliant engineers and not useability experts, interface designers and people like that, if KDE or GNOME didn't have useability people involved, where would we ever be today?

Definitely a mock-up. The pics are originally from an Italian site which blogs about possible future technology.
<a href="http://grooan.com/futurefeeds/index.php?p=15">Primi screenshot per GoogleOS</a>

Google has confirmed they are using a customized version of Ubuntu.
<a href="http://www.informationweek.com/news/sho ... n=">Google Confirms Using Ubuntu Linux, Won't Say Why</a>
Why are they using a Linux distro if they aren't planning on releasing it to the public? Probably for all of the same reasons we're using Linux.

I know what you mean, Pat.

I'm looking forward to KDE's Plasma, but crossing my fingers hoping it looks nice, but professional too. I'll be real disappointed if Plasma turns out to be "Romper Room themed".

Take eyeOS, for example. I know Linc (and some on the IRC) didn't like the colour scheme, but the layout is nice and clean. It's stylish, but professional, too... if you know what I'm getting at.
