my desktop at work runs windows xp and really does absolutely nothing except look at web pages morons write for internet exploder only.
well we had a patch this morning for windows media player.
which is all fine and good - but WTF does it have to reboot the system for a media player patch.
xp is still in the old windows 3.1 days - I don't care what anybody says - it still is dos and still is a piece of crap.
anybody who says it is better than linux on the desktop is full of shat.

NT is not DOS-based, luckily, and XP is NT-based, it's still crap though, I fully agree with you on that. Widnws 98 was worse on the reboot thing though, you change your network settings..... reboot the machine! You changed your screen resolution... reboot the machine!!! What's the next thing gonna be?
