It defaults into KDE and has some helpful admin tools.
I found that it ran a bit slow, compared to ALT Linux. Also, the support forum wasn't all too helpful to me. Personally, felt basically "on my own" when I had questions.
It is more polished than Knoppix and Gnoppix. It configured to my hardware almost perfectly. It was nice to be able to try Mepis before installing it, too.
I'd give Mepis a 7.5 out of 10.
