you guys are lucky; at the SF linux world, the .org pavilion got shoved to the second floor, while all the corporate giants occupied the main hall at moscone center. hell, the FSF and mozilla folks were pushed into the corner away from everyone on the second floor, I barely noticed them.
so do us all a favor, mighty tllts hosts. make a lot of noise, steal the thunder from HP, intel, and all those siuts and bring linux back to its roots!

For those of you who don't want to register online for the LWE. IDG just sent us 100 passes for our listeners. They get you onto the show floor and into the key note addresses. We'll send them to you if you send us a a self-addressed envelope with postage. You can mail us at the following address:

Darn, I need to plan a vacation to the US in a year or two when there's a Linux expo I can attend

Re: New
The Linux World Expo is a big convention held on the East (Boston) and West (San Francisco) coasts every year. They also have shows around the world. Basically the linux world comes together to have classes, discussions, demonstrations and parties. You can walk around and see some demos of the latest and greatest products and get lots of free stuff (SWAG). Part of the convention is the .org Pavilion where community projects get booths for free. Normally they charge $5000 to vendors to purchase a booth. For the first time TLLTS will have a booth at LWE in the .org Pavilion. We'll be giving away some free stuff, recording shows and hanging out with our listeners.JB wrote:Hey guys I am new.

We're staying at the Holiday Inn in Braintree (just outside of Boston):

The rooms are $96 a night and include breakfest and free broadband access. The official LWE hotels are pretty expensive especially since they charge for parking and internet access.

My bad I meant to say come early on Tuesday. We're not rolling into town until the afternoon and just registering on Monday. See you all Tuesday.Wally Balljacker wrote:The first day (Monday) is just for the conference, I take it? I guess since I'm going just for the Expo, that means Tuesday through Thursday. This is my first time going to LWE, so this is all new to me.
