Anyone know where to find a PS2 Linux kit?

The official Linux kit for the PlayStation 2 has been permanently sold out on Sony's website for quite some time now, and it's unfortunate, because in order to get NetBSD, or Debian running on the PS2, the official kit is required. A quick search on eBay brought up 2 results; both of which are going for over $250. There's got to be a place selling these things at a cheaper price, or a way to get Linux or BSD installed without it. Any ideas? I have a PS2 with a keyboard, mouse, and hard drive already, hooked up to my network, and I'm dying to throw Linux on it.

What's in the kit? Maybe it could be built from parts?

Edit: Google shows me this site, which sells the kit. They want 149 euros, which is $180. Doesn't look like they ship to the US.

Kit seems to contain 40 gig HD, network adapter, monitor adapter, keyoard, mouse, and software. The monitor adapter doesn't upscan, so you won't get any more resolution than from a TV.

Sounds like all you really need is the software. Perhaps you may be able to obtain that legally somewhere??

The software is all I need. I can't boot any old burned CD-R on the PS2, because it's not modded.
