My opinion on Mac OS X

Personally, I've always been impressed how the OS X gui makes such fast hardware seem so sluggish. For example, the mouse cursor motion is designed such that large mouse movements fling you across the entire screen, while small movements feel as though you're treading through quicksand I also enjoy the fact that error messages hide from me the details which would help me solve the problem. And you've got to love the "dashboard" thing (those nifty desktop widgets introduced in 10.4) , which consumes insane amounts of ram and cpu cycles. I must thank the apple engineers who made it impossible to turn off the dashboard.

Dude, unless you own a Mac, you don't know how right you are! I just put Fedora Core 5 on my Mac mini, because SUSE 10.1 is not out yet and I wanted to see what Red Hat has been up to, and this sucker flies, GNOME is very responsive and runs smooth with Mono and a Free Java platform and all the cool Mono apps such as F-Spot, Beagle and Banshee along with Azureus without the notorious Sun stuff!

After getting rid of the ugly-ass BlueCurve icons (The Tango icons are great on GNOME) I gotta say that GNOME is pretty nice.

I look forward to seeing Apple and Microsoft having some crazy-ass graphics card requirements for their operating systems and then comes XGL, AIGLX and Xegl, and just requires like a Radeon 8500 or something!

I have to deal with macs and mac users at work. And these are not tech-savvy mac users, no no. These are the kind of people who think I'm a genius b/c they see me using that "little text box command thing" on their macs when I'm trying to fix it.
