So the Revolution has been renamed "Wii". What do you guys think? It's definitely unique. I thought it was incredibly stupid at first, but after letting it settle in maybe it's not so bad.

Re: Nintendo Wii
Yeah, I think it primarily was Nintendo bashers we heard yelling, because there are a lot of those, no matter what Nintendo would do they would still critisize them for whatever, even if they created a game that got 11/10 in every single damn review.Wally Balljacker wrote:I thought it was incredibly stupid at first, but after letting it settle in maybe it's not so bad.
Personally I think Revolution was a better name, but Wii is not bad, I kind of like the "ii" thing, would be quite cool if it was "Xii", would make no sense at all, but looks cool. Anyway, no matter what name they give the console, I'm still gonna buy it, and you know what they have done by revealing that name now? Got a crapload of attention, and E3 will be going off next week.

I'd pronouce both the same. The extra 'e' doesn't change anything.Tsuroerusu wrote:It's actually pronounced like "we" not "wee".thetza wrote:Wee? what was wrong with 'revolution'?! they need to hire some apple brain washers to help them with their marketting
I heard on CNet's "Buzz out loud" podcast the reason the picked that spelling was in Japanese 'we' would be pronounced 'weh', so they used the 2 'i's instead.
