Hey thanks! More ways to take time away from things I should actually be doing.

This looks really great, though. Are you currently playing?

I've been on pretty much 24/7 since I started playing 2 days ago :)

I wouldn't mind submitting stuff once I can import/export e3d into blender.

I was playing last night. Very cool. I tell you the state of linux gaming is slowing improving. The key of this is for game developers to use opengl instead of activex. Opengl makes porting the games across multiple platforms much easier.

I thought it did use OpenGL? On linux it requires glx enabled in your xorg.conf.

AFAIK it does. I think what Patrick was referring to was Linux gaming in general - games that are in OpenGL (like Eternal Lands) are often ported to Linux easily (like Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Unreal Tournament, Doom3, etc), whereas DirectX games aren't (like Half-Life 2).

Exactly. Another cool game I was playing is gl-117 (air combat sim):

Flight gear is available for linux:

This looks like a real world flight simulator. Another OpenGL app.

Alright.... Nintenduh is evil!

I should have never checked out Eternal Lands like this thread suggested.

Last night I spent several hour hunting rabbits for their fur so I could fulfill a quest given to me by my new Order!

Good game... though perhaps TOO GOOD!

I've spoken with Placid (An in-game moderator and member of the EL Linux Community guild) and he said that he would prolly be okay with doing an interview with you good folks about the state of linux gaming :)

Would this be somthing worth trying to setup?

From the website:
...P2 450, OpenGl 1.2 compliant video accelerator (it works fine on a Vanta TNT2 8MB), 128 RAM, and at least a 28 Kbauds Internet connection
