Your local Red Light District, surely SOME of the stuff you can find there is "american made", get it?Snarkout wrote:So...um...where do they plan on finding American made, well, ANYTHING?

It depends on what your definition of "American" is. Most folks from the USA think of "America" ending at Canada to the north, and Mexico to the south. However, many folks beyond those borders still consider themselves "American," just not from the United States.Tsuroerusu wrote:Your local Red Light District, surely SOME of the stuff you can find there is "american made", get it?Snarkout wrote:So...um...where do they plan on finding American made, well, ANYTHING?
In any event, I've had a lot of "American Made" (by any definition) in my day, but I never tried to load an OS on that variety, and never worried a lot about having my "keystrokes logged."
This thread sure hit the gutter fast...

Yep. Snopes is always a good place to check before buying into an urban myth.Gomer_X wrote:That was proved to be a very bad hoax shortly after it hit the internet.jsusanka wrote:dell laptops come with keystroke recorders hardwired in.

I don't understand. How is it any more of a security risk than a computer made in other countries. Even the Dells that are made here, have some (most) parts that are made in other countries that could possibly use hidden programs to spy on the United States. They just have to start keeping track on what goes into and out of the network, I guess
