And no its not BSD. Hurd is a GNU kernel as opposed to the Linux Torvalds Linux kernel.

Note that T said "BFD," not BSD. It's a joke from the "Windows Crash Radio" episode.

Not that HURD isn't funny all on it's own.

I've used Debian GNU/Hurd, and it's not that bad. It doesn't perform nearly as good as the Linux kernel of course, but it is pretty usable.

I suppose I should try it and see. Does it work in VMWare or qemu?
